Just in time for Labor Day, two top Wisconsin drinking experts (and really, doesn’t Wisconsin have the nation’s leading experts in this area?) have come forward with life-changing advice, courtesy of TV stations in Milwaukee and Green Bay.
Here’s wine expert Jeff Cox (of Wine Maniacs Bar & Bistro in Oconomowoc), interviewed by conservative talk-radio host Charlie Sykes (at the Wine Maniacs location on the river in Milwaukee). His “life-changing advice” — Charlie’s words — is simple: wine first; hard liquor later! (Full video here; related video, with some serious wine advice, here.) Don’t miss the last 20 seconds.
And for advice on great beers for grilling, look no further than craft beer expert Justin Rutchik of The Bottle Room in Suamico, WI.
Madison-based conservative talk-radio host Vicki McKenna (who, like Charlie, is known to enjoy liquid refreshment from time to time) will likely be interested to learn that Justin is a firefighter — but perhaps less interested to learn that (as mentioned here) he launched The Bottle Room with his wife, Christine:
And here are links to information about the Wisconsin craft beers recommended by Justin (of course, the three foreign beers he mentioned, from Michigan, Oregon, and Belgium, are omitted):
5. Fuel Cafe, by Lakefront Brewery, Inc. of Milwaukee (for an entertaining video review of this coffee-enhanced beer, by Greg Puckett — a Virginian whose refrigerator is stocked with so much beer that he ought to be named an honorary citizen of Wisconsin — watch this).
