A powerful essay by Sarah Palin published on Breitbart.com today, “Breitbart is Here,” bolsters the optimism expressed March 5 on this blog that in the fullness of time Andrew Breitbart may prove even more influential in death than he was in life, if  his death spurs his many admirers to redouble their efforts to advance the principles he espoused, as Governor Palin urges. For additional background on Knauff and his essay, which has become an instant classic, see Ben Shapiro‘s post on Big Hollywood.

An mp3 podcast of the full show is available here, but for those particularly interested in Sykes’s reading and discussion of Knauff’s essay, here is a clip of that portion of the show.

The controversy over the vile comments about Andrew Breitbart’s death made by hatetalker John “Sly” Sylvester of Madison’s WTDY continues.  Yesterday conservative talk show host Charlie Sykes of Milwaukee’s WISN addressed Sylvester’s conduct, focusing his discussion on the clear double standard in the mainstream media concerning harsh criticism of conservatives who make objectionable comments (e.g., the current criticism of Rush Limbaugh) versus lenient to nonexistent criticism of liberals who make objectionable comments.  An mp3 podcast of the show is available here.  Sykes addressed the matter on his blog here and on his Facebook page here. Media bias is a subject worth special focus at this juncture  given the outrageous comments made about Andrew Breitbart’s death by liberal talk show host John “Sly” Sylvester of Madison’s WTDY, four days ago on March 2.

Similar to the feeding frenzy that erupted last year as the liberal mass media repeatedly attempted, without any basis, to link the shooting of Rep. Gabby Giffords to Tea Party rhetoric, currently the liberal mass media (both in Wisconsin and nationwide) is obsessed with criticizing the language chosen by Rush Limbaugh to describe political activist, Sandra Fluke, who appeared before Members of Congress as an advocate of free birth control.

By contrast, to date there has been no liberal mass media condemnation — or even mention — of the far more outrageous comments Sylvester made on his show about Breitbart the morning after the announcement of Breitbart’s death. (more…)
